Caledon OPP continue to conduct traffic enforcement across the Town of Caledon, helping to keep motorists safe.
Pictured here are three recent Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) traffic stops conducted by our specially trained CMV Inspectors. As a result of these investigations, numerous offence notices were issued for both document and equipment related violations.
Commercial drivers are reminded that 24/7 compliance with CMV safety requirements such as inspections, hours of service, secured cargo and the movement of dangerous goods is critical to keeping roads safe and forms part of commercial vehicle enforcement.
The OPP remains committed to making our roads a safer place through enforcement and public education. Motorists are encouraged to contact the OPP to report unsafe vehicles and unsafe driving behaviours that are observed. Road safety is a shared responsibility.

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested seven individuals following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Township of Melancthon as part of an ongoing property crime investigation.
During the spring of 2026, police received numerous reports of thefts from rural properties throughout northern Dufferin County and southern Grey County. The incidents involved a variety of high-value property, including machinery, equipment trailers, farm implements, power tools, and other items.
On May 30, 2026, as a result of the investigation, members of the Dufferin Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from Dufferin B Platoon and C Platoon, executed a search warrant at a residence on the 6th Line NE in Melancthon Township.
Officers recovered a significant quantity of property believed to be connected to the reported thefts. Seven individuals were located at the residence and taken into custody. Investigators also discovered that some of the suspected stolen property was in the process of being dismantled and prepared for scrap metal.
As a result of the investigation, Eloise MCGONIGAL, a 67-year-old female from Melancthon, has been charged with the following offences:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (five counts)
· Mischief - Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-over $5000
As a result of the investigation, Wayne MILLS, a 56-year-old male from Cambridge, has been charged with the following offences:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (five counts)
· Mischief - Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-over $5000
As a result of the investigation, Joanne MULVIHILL, a 49-year-old female from Durham, has been charged with the following offences:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (five counts)
· Mischief - Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-over $5000
As a result of the investigation, Richard NETHERCOTT, a 61-year-old male from New Hamburg, has been charged with the following offences:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (five counts)
· Mischief - Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-over $5000
As a result of the investigation, Tara TAIT, a 52-year-old female from Dundalk, has been charged with the following offences:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (five counts)
· Mischief - Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-over $5000
As a result of the investigation, Gordon WINSLOW, a 34-year-old male from Maxwell, has been charged with the following offences:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (five counts)
· Mischief - Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-over $5000
As a result of the investigation, Giuseppe BIASE, a 61-year-old male from Melancthon, has been charged with the following offences:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (five counts)
· Mischief - Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property-over $5000
The following items were seized:
· Galvanized vehicle hauler/trailer (valued at approximately $10,000)
· Zero-turn lawn mower (valued at approximately $7,500)
· Custom farm trailer (valued at approximately $7,500)
· Custom farm trailer (valued at approximately $7,500)
· Large quantity of Milwaukee and DeWalt power tools (valued at approximately $5,000)
Gordon WINSLOW was held for a bail hearing, while the remaining individuals were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.
This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators believe additional individuals may be involved. Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact the Dufferin OPP and reference incident number RM26146264.

Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals following the execution of two warrants in relation to a shooting incident in Bolton.
On March 18, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Bambi Trail, in the Town of Caledon. No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident. The suspect vehicle, a white Kia sports utility vehicle (SUV), was observed leaving the area.
In the time since the incident, investigators from the Caledon Major Crime Unit (MCU) continued to investigate, leading to the execution of two warrants upon a residence in Mississauga on April 21, 2026, and May 28, 2026. Officers seized approximately 16.6 grams of cocaine, and items consistent with the sale and trafficking of drugs, as well as other evidence that was relevant to the shooting investigation.
As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested and charged.

Both individuals were held for a bail hearing and remain in custody.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is aware of a video currently circulating online that appears to show an individual discharging a firearm, with accompanying claims that the incident occurred in Caledon.
The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch has reviewed the video and investigated its origin. Investigators have determined that the video did not occur in Caledon or anywhere within Ontario or Canada. The video has been confirmed to have originated in the United States.
The OPP reminds the public to be cautious when sharing unverified content on social media, as it can contribute to misinformation and unnecessary concern within the community.

Downtown Bolton Tim Horton's closing May 25th for approximately one month for renovations

Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious fail to remain motor vehicle collision that occurred following a gas theft in the Village of Mansfield.
On May 13, 2026, at approximately 2:44 p.m., Dufferin OPP responded to the Pioneer gas station in Mansfield for reports of a serious fail to remain collision.
The investigation has revealed that a male suspect operating a black Ford SUV with an attached camper trailer allegedly attempted to flee the gas station without paying for fuel. During the incident, the gas station attendant attempted to intervene and was struck by the vehicle.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre for treatment.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black Ford SUV displaying stolen licence plate 233 DST. The attached camper trailer was displaying stolen trailer plate 521 DTB.
On May 14, 2026, members of the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located the vehicle and trailer involved in the fail-to-remain collision that occurred in Mansfield. After officers deployed a spike belt, the suspect fled from police and entered a wooded area. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and were ultimately able to locate the suspect and take him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, Darbara SINGH MANN, a 53-year-old male from Brampton, has been charged with:
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada (two counts)
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
· Theft
· Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm
· Fail to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm
The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, observed the vehicle involved, or who may have dash camera or surveillance footage, to contact the Dufferin OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
